Great Vacation on the Viking Sky - Homelands Cruise
August
Pros: Beautiful, well designed ship and cabins, great itinerary, tours and excellent food.
Cons: Did not get to sign up for 2 tours that we had wanted, as they were sold out.
Recommended: Yes
The Viking Sky is beautiful and well designed, as are the cabins. The ship is immaculate. Like a 5-star hotel on the water. The size of the ship is perfect and the ratio of passengers to crew is about 1 ½ crew to every passenger. Our cabin attendants provided amazing service twice daily and we were always made to feel like we were coming home at the end of a long day of touring, as they always greeted us by name and with a big smile! The cabin itself was well designed with a Scandinavian flair. We were in a Veranda cabin, with a balcony with a table and 2 chairs, refrigerator, a very comfortable king size bed, coffee table and two upholstered chairs, a desk with a built-in storage/ make-up mirror that lit up and a lovely modern bathroom, which included a heated floor. The room also included ample storage space and a safe for valuables. Viking provided robes and slippers for our use while on the ship. We took advantage of the gym, luxurious spa and shipboard classes that were offered and were wonderful! We enjoyed the onboard food in all the restaurants and ate twice in each specialty restaurant that is all included. There are many public areas that seem under-utilized where passengers seeking solitude can find peace and quiet. We enjoyed the onboard historian, the port talks, the nightly entertainment in the various venues and the cruise director. We found the Viking Homelands itinerary to be exceptional, as it hit most of the destination highlights that we were looking for on our Scandinavian adventure. The included tours were excellent due to the quality of the tour guides, as were the optional tours that we took.

Pros: Wonderful trip that went according to plan.
Cons: The weather for this itinerary is typically cool and rainy but we managed to avoid most of the rain.
Recommended: Yes
The ship, crew, and activities/entertainment were wonderful. Our only disruption was missing the visit to the Shetland Islands because of weather conditions but we got an extra day in Bergen.

Viking World Cruise --Perfect for a King & Queen
May
Pros: Attention to Detail in Every Aspect. Genuine warmth & attentiveness, Crew made you feel like Royalty the minute you step on board until the end, amazingly CLEAN, Availibility of the officers was unbelieveable!! Food was tremendous...in presentation and taste and variety.
Cons: The ship's AC was run too cold.
Recommended: Yes
We were treated like family and at the end of 4 months, we FELT like family too! While the destinations were undeniably magical, what truly elevated the experience was the phenomenal service we received aboard our magnificent ship. Every encounter, from the attentive crew remembering our names from the very first day, waitstaff remembering our favorite drinks to the housekeeping staff leaving our room sparkling clean every day, was a testament to their dedication. The crew's thoughtfulness and acts of kindness and helpfulness truly went above and beyond. We disembarked feeling not just well-rested and exhilarated, but also deeply touched by the incredible hospitality we received.

One of our best cruises. The service personnel from the cabin gentleman to the executive chef, makes you feel that you are the most important passenger in the ship.

Top Notch Viking Ocean Cruise
October
Pros: The amaxing Viking luxeries and staff
Cons: A few dissapointing ports of call
Recommended: Yes
This was our first Viking Ocean Cruise, having experienced a river cruise a few years ago. The Viking experience was top notch; the staff goes out of their way to please, to get to know you, to thank you, to be super friendly. The food was certainly not typical "cruise food." The buffet had many, many options and the restaurants were outstanding. Our biggest disappointment were the ports of call, some of which require a long (60-90 minutes) commute to the destination city (Rome, Venice) then of course the same return time, which eats up a lot of your time. The smaller, lesser known ports were quaint but really not much to see except the local cathedrals.

Great Trip
March
Pros: Staff, Atmosphere, amenities
Cons: Fellow travelers, excursions
Recommended: Yes
Our first trip with Viking. Second cruise ever - we were married while on our first cruise 20 years ago. This trip was our anniversary gift to each other! We loved the staff and all that they added to our voyage. From airport transfers to food/drink service, from housekeeping to spa services, everything the staff provided was top notch. Weather was a bit disappointing for part of our journey, but that's not a knock on anyone. The shore excursions were a bit too crowded for our taste and felt like a Jr. High field trip at times. While ashore, our fellow travelers' inability to keep up or follow directions was a bit frustrating. The QV gizmos were convenient, but cumbersome at times.
